Main Character: Lamar Jackson, again
I need to go back through each edition of Snagged Sports to see how many times Lamar has been the day's main character, but if he keeps with the pace he's on, it might reach double digits soon. Jackson set the NFL world ablaze with an earth-shaking tweet that I'm sure sent Ravens' fans heart rate through the roof. Before I say anything more, let's dive in.
The Tweet(s)
A letter to my Fans
I want to first thank you all for all of the love and support you consistently show towards me. All of you are amazing and I appreciate y’all so much. I want you all to know not to believe everything you read about me. Let me personally answer your questions

in regards to my future plans. As of March 2nd I requested a trade from the Ravens organization for which the Ravens has not been interested in meeting my value, any and everyone that’s has met me or been around me know I love the game of football and my dream is to help a team

win the super bowl. You all are great but I had to make a business decision that was best for my family and I. No matter how far I go or where my career takes me, I’ll continue to be close to my fans of Baltimore Flock nation and the entire State of Maryland. You’ll See me again

The Implications
Oh boy. A three part tweet means business, every one knows that, but I'm not sure anyone realized that:
Lamar had formally requested a trade (according to him)
It's supposedly been a month since he requested the trade and no one has reported it
Either way, it was reported by NFL insider, Ian Rapaport, that Jackson has continued to try to work a deal with the Ravens despite this tweet, and that the trade request is essentially useless with his non-exclusive franchise tag in effect. Jackson has free reign to test the market with other teams, and the hope for Baltimore's front office is that Jackson will create the market for himself, giving the Ravens a chance to match whatever deal is offered.
Best Fits Outside B'more
Rumors have been swirling for months now on the best landing spots for Lamar, but apparently Lamar has one particular team in mind.
Robert Kraft said Meek Mill texted him Lamar Jackson wanted to come to the Patriots 👀
Kraft said that would be Bill Belichick’s decision

Whether he actually ends up there or not is anyone's guess, but the teams with the current highest odds of landing him are the Falcons, Colts, Commanders, and Titans, in that order. It now comes down to teams creating the room for Jackson to join their organization, and mutual interest from both parties on whatever deal is cooked up for Lamar, likely one with lots of guaranteed money.
I for one hope this saga never ends, because it has been by far and a way the most interesting story out of this NFL offseason, and yes, that includes Rodgers' darkness retreat.
You May Not Have Seen THIS 👀
No, this isn't a Mike Trout retirement story, but he will definitely be ready to go for when that time comes. Trout is teaming up with his good pal Tiger Woods to build a championship course in his hometown of Vineland, New Jersey.
Trout, a lifelong golf fan, thought of the opportunity as a way to enjoy life post baseball, and pursue something he loves. The course, aptly named Trout National - The Reserve, is being designed by Tiger's TGR Designs and will feature 18 championship style holes, a clubhouse, and wedding venue.
As far as Trout's game goes, he claims he is a 7 handicap and can drive it "330-360 yards", which unlike your golf buddies claim, is probably not an exaggeration. Any course Tiger Woods designs is sure to be top-of-the-line, so watch out for Trout National to be the new it thing once it is ready for play in 2025.

About last night...
I will take 1-0-1 night for my first night back. I would have loved to have gotten the Florida over early enough to get it at 6.5, but it’s not losing money so won't complain. Also, I would just like to say I saw the let down spot for the Kings and took the sharp route. You know what they say, “As iron sharpens iron so one bet sharpens another.”
🏒 NHL: LA Kings +115 vs. Calgary
I will start off with a disclaimer in saying that I have been on the wrong side of betting the Flames fairly consistently, so bet at your own risk. I believe all of this comes down to the fact that the Kings are simply the better team, plus they beat the Flames a week ago 8-2. Calgary is the well-rested home favorites (which I would normally lean towards) but I think the Kings are a good enough team get the job done.
🏒 NHL: Boston O 3.5 Goals -150
I really want to take the game over 6 on this as well, but with how good the Bruins' defense and goaltending has been of late, I am not sure if this will be a 5-1 or 4-2 game. What I do know is that Boston will score goals. They have covered this number in 3 of their last 5 games. I will put my faith in the best team in the league to score goals.
As per usual, do you what you must with this valuable information.

Joe has a good point here... It's a good thing that this is just Spring Training, because this might be one of the worst ejections the sport has ever seen. Polish up umps, t-minus two days until the calls count for real!
🔥 Hot Takes Tuesday 🔥
Today's Hot Take Tuesday will feature my MLB predictions for the 2023 season. Opening Day is just around the corner, so it's time to dust up on some MLB knowledge and get excited to see the league's best players battle it out for the next six months. Below are some very accurate takes that I fully expect to be correct and not completely backfire on me in the coming months.
🤠 Texas Rangers win the AL West
The Texas Rangers have not done much of anything in recent years, but the team out of Arlington is looking to make a splash this 2023 MLB season. After spending $500 million for Corey Seager and Marcus Semien, the Rangers went out and acquired Cy Young winner, Jacob deGrom, Nathan Eovaldi, and Andrew Heaney to provide some quality depth for their starters. The AL West may be one of the toughest divisions in baseball this year, but newly hired Bruce Bochey and the rest of the organization is up for the task.
☀️ Padres edge out the Dodgers in the NL West
In the battle of California (minus the Giants and A's), the Padres', for maybe the first time ever, hold a slight advantage over the Los Angeles Dodgers. After signing new shortstop, Xander Bogaerts, the Padres only improved their team that already has an elite core consisting of Tatis Jr., Machado, and Soto. This team is stacked from top to bottom, and as long as the pitching is halfway decent this season, San Diego has a shot to become the best team in California.
🏆 Trea Turner: NL MVP & World Series MVP
Is this a little biased following Turner's amazing campaign from the World Baseball Classic? Maybe a little bit, but regardless, you could argue he was the best player in the tournament outside of Shohei Ohtani. The Phillies have the roster, and the experience of last year's loss to the Astros to carry them into the postseason with the best player in the NL, and the motivation of last year's World Series loss to carry them to their first title since 2008.
