Let's get into it.
👑 NFL Game Recaps
Best of the Best
On paper, this game should not have been this fun, but wow did it deliver.
Broncos’ Country rode on out to a 21-3 lead, and if you’ve seen any Denver games in the past year or so, this was as good as marking down a W. Historically, the Broncos win if they can reach the magic number 21, but such was not the case.
QB1 Sam Howell and the Commanders stormed back to take the lead behind second year running back Brian Robinsons Jr’s big day on the ground, and jumped out to a 35-24 lead with only seven minutes left to play.
But the Broncos never backed down, never gave up, and after nailing a field goal to bring the margin down to eight, the impossible happened. Denver got the ball back with just under a minute to play, and prayers were answered with Brandon Johnson hauling in Russ’ 50-yard pass (more on this in a sec) to cut the lead to only two.
But as the fans have seen many times to past two seasons, the Broncos couldn’t close it out, and failed to add two points, falling to the Commies for their second loss of the season. If you were keeping track, that’s now two losses for Denver by a combined total of three points.
Sneaky Fun
There was nothing sneaky about how fun this game was.
Giants fans across the nation were ready with matches in hand to burn Daniel Jones jerseys in bulk after being shutout for the third half in a row. And to the very obviously tanking Arizona Cardinals nonetheless.
Josh Dobbs did a fine job in the first half, even making plays with his leg with a 23-yard TD run. Arizona might not get another chance to go up 20-0 for the rest of the season, but Cardinals fans, you’ll always have the first half of Week 2.
The locker room at halftime was probably a sore sight for New York, but whatever was said in that room sparked one of the best comebacks we might see all season long. Daniel Jones started to finally earn his $40M’s after running in for New York’s first score of the season at the start of the third, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Saquon Barkley also decided to show up after the break with two touchdowns of his own, and the Giants’ D held Arizona to just eight points in the second half. After scoring 14 points in four minutes of play, the game was tied, and the Giants needed a field goal for their first win of the season. That’s exactly what they got.
Graham Gano nailed a 34-yard field goal for the win, and Giants fans everywhere can safely put away their fiery flames of sadness. Man oh man what a difference a week can make.
The Dud
In a rematch of last season’s AFC Divisional game, this year’s regular season matchup had the makings of an instant classic. Could Trevor Lawrence really be the next big thing? Will Mahomes and Kelce be able to pick back up where they left off? Are the Jags really for real for real?
Well, we got the answers, but honestly, if you watched this game all the way through, props to you. The two touchdowns on the day came from the arm of Patty Mahomes III (shocker), and the Jags were stifled all day long. The best play of the game was an ineligible catch from a Chiefs lineman, but knowing Andy Reid, he’ll probably have the same guy score a touchdown later this season.
The answer to that first question is TBD, the second is yes, and the third is probably not but also maybe.

📚️ College Football’s Best of the Best
If future you told past you one month ago that you would find yourself up at 2:00am CT time on Saturday night watching a game between Colorado vs. Colorado State, you would have said there was no way that would be possible. Yet, like many out there, such was the case.
Although the Buffalo were 20+ point favorites heading into the in-state rivalry, Deion’s boys came out flat, making the game much closer than it should have been.
With team hat and sunglasses down eight with a little under two minutes to play, starting from their own 2 yard line, QB Shedeur Sanders, without all-purpose player Travis Hunter, led his team down the field to score the game-tying touchdown and two-point conversion to send the game into overtime. In OT, the game went back and forth until the Buffalo stopped the Rams on a fourth and long to seal the unlikely victory for their third straight win.
The real test for this team starts this week as the nation will get to see what they’re made of with a matchup against Oregon, and next week, against USC. In the wise words of Terrell Owens, “getcha popcorn ready”.
👐 Sunday Snag
This one was a no-brainer.
In the last seconds of the game, Russell Wilson heaved a prayer to the endzone. Much to the surprise of everyone in the stadium, Brandon Johnson came down with it to breathe life into the Broncos for approximately two minutes.
Of course, Denver would go on to fail in converting the two-point try to tie the game and the play will likely be lost in history for the rest of time. Luckily for Johnson, he can always say that he was the 2022 Week 2 recipient of the Sunday Snag courtesy of Snagged Sports.

❌ Jets vs. Cowboys Under 39.5 total points
About last night…
I am seeing the board so clearly that I myself might be the board. I am the board.
My only dud was the Jets, which I am actually okay with because the Cowboys look like they could go all the way. Also, it was a tough week for any under since only the Chiefs’ and the Dolphins’ were the only games that hit the under.
Overall, I’m very pleased with how we have started, but we are already onto tonight’s game and looking ahead to next week.
Monday’s Picks
🏈 NFL: Panthers +3 vs. Saints & Under 39.5 total points
If books keep giving home divisional dogs and unders, I will continue to take them as often as I can.
This is a classic Pros vs. Joe's matchup on the betting side. 70% of the bets are on the Saints but 65% of the money is on the Panthers, per Action Network. Frank Reich is historically horrible in Week 1, but has always bounced back the following week.
The Panthers had a few bad breaks in Week 1, and the score didn't show how much closer it could have been. All around, I love both of these numbers for so many reasons, so just trust me on this one.
🏈 NFL: Browns vs. Steelers Under 38 total points
Another. Outdoor. Divisional. Under.
Two of the best defensive players in the league will be on the field at all times. These are two good defensive teams with mediocre pass games at best. The clock will run and points will be few. Don't overthink it.

Fantasy managers everywhere are scrambling to try and figure out their rosters, and it seems that there’s only one thing to do: acquire Puka Nacua at all costs.
Here are some of the absolute studs from Week 2 (thus far), and unfortunately for some, a familiar face is back this week on the list of the duds.
