I really am back

I really am back, I promise:

I spoke to a friend this past week and he let me know how much he misses these newsletters, and how insightful they were (and how much money he made from my betting columns). I know I sent a message way back in the day about how I was taking over but, I mean it this time. I am here and Mr. Covers is not going anywhere. For those who care, I have cooled off since I stopped writing. Some say it is because I did not have people to write for. To them I say shut the hell up, it was just a phase. Buckle up, we have the NFL playoffs coming and we are just about midway through the NHL and NBA season and I am just now heating up.

Pick 1: Chargers +13 vs. Buffalo Bills

Listen, this is disgusting, I get it, but I love the Chargers here. The Chargers are coming off of maybe the ugliest loss of this entire year, and the Bills are coming off of back-to-back impressive wins from the Cowboys and Chiefs win, I think they come back down to earth and win by only a touchdown here. Especially when you add the fact that Brandon Staley is no longer around to mess it up for the Chargers, give me The Bolts to lose by 8-10 here.

Pick 2: Colts +2.5 @ Falcons

I believe the Colts could cover the spread against just about anyone, and I am not sure the Falcons could cover against the prison school my high school would play every year on homecoming. This is a coaching mismatch to the most aggressive degree. Gardner Minshew is not the most sexy pick when it comes to betting, but with Taylor Heinicke starting for the first time in weeks, give me the Colts here. If you want to bail out and take over 44.5 then I will not argue.

Pick 3: James Madison -1 vs Air Force

I would like to start off by saying thank you for your service to all those who have served. I want to follow that by saying there is no way in hell Air Force covers this number. Not a chance. I do not care about James Madison’s schedule, I see them kicking the absolute shit out of the Air Force, with respect to our troops. If it was between who wins in a paper airplane fight, give me Air Force all day, but not on this day.

Pick 4: NY Rangers -150 vs Oilers

The Oilers have been better as of late I get it, but the Rangers are buzzing. The Rangers are 10-3 at home this year and Edmonton is a measly 5-9 on the road this year. I am not trying to overthink this pick, take the home team here. LETS GO RANGERS.
