Main Character: March
By many accounts, we have entered into one of the best sports months of the year. Let's face it - March Madness is the best sporting event of the year, and college basketball is reaching its peak at the moment. Seven mid-major conference tournaments started yesterday, and the big guys are still locking up seeding before they begin their tournaments next week. Let's take a look around the college basketball landscape to see how things are shaping up.
Bama continues to find ways to win
ESPN
After going down 17 points at one point in the game against bitter rival Auburn, the Crimson Tide pulled the game back to all square in regulation, and like Bama does, won the game in overtime.
I don't know how this team keeps on doing it, but this is exactly the style of play that can make a deep run come tournament time. Ugly wins are still wins, and with the 1 seed all but locked up for the SEC tournament, Alabama has a real chance at the conference champion title. With such a wide open field this year, who knows, maybe they end up as a top dog in THE tournament as well.
UConn shows no mercy
The Huskies are always a team to watch when March rolls around, and unfortunately for DePaul, they got to experience this for themselves.
UConn started the game out on a 29-2 run, and finished the half up 51-19. DePaul is certainly not a tournament caliber team, but it's hard to put up these kind of numbers against any team. The Big East is back in a big way, and to put the depth of the conference in perspective - if their conference tournament started today, the Huskies would be the 5 seed.
Watch out CBB world, these teams are not messing around and are looking to prove that they can compete with the best of 'em.
Stormin' the court
ESPN
Who doesn't love a good court storming? TCU denied Texas a shot for a share of the Big 12 title, and the Horned Frogs are getting hot at the right time.
As we know by now, the Big 12 is stacked, and after a win like this, why couldn't TCU run the table and get a top seed in the NCAA Tournament?

The PGA announced significant changes to the Tour for upcoming seasons including no cut events, elevated tournaments, and cutting down on guaranteed spots in the PGA Tour itself. This is all in an effort to 1: compete with the ever-present LIV Golf league, and 2: keep the players happy.
Significant PGA Tour changes in last 2 years:
—Creation of Player Impact Program
—Cutting yearly cards from top 125 to 70
—Switch back to a calendar-year sched
—New path from college golf straight to PGA Tour
—TGL simulator league
—Designating 8 $20m, 70-75 player, no-cut events— Dan Rapaport (@Daniel_Rapaport)

Once LIV came into the picture, many players realized that they had some real bargaining power to determine the future of the game. Many are saying that the PGA is simply copying what LIV has tried to implement, but in the end, for the PGA, it's all about growing the game for future generations. How they do it may appear similar to certain new styles of golf, but as long as it can retain players and make them happy, the PGA is hoping to thrive and be the league of the future - for the long haul.

Weston Mazey suffered a scary brain injury while playing baseball. He thought he'd never play again, but doctors got him back on the field within a few months.
This is what the opposing team did in his first game back.

Having courage is one thing, but stepping back up to the plate after suffering a horrific injury from playing baseball is both awesome and inspiring. Weston has made a fan out of us all.

Wednesday's Results:
✅ NY Knicks first half -3.5 vs. Brooklyn
❌ Providence -165 ML vs. Xavier
About last night...
Betting is all about playing the numbers and letting the numbers either caress you into the sweet sweet night or bend you over and make you crawl into the fetal position.
The Knicks first half spreads may be my new favorite bet. Call a doctor because I have officially caught Knicks fever.
Of course, I give you Providence and they lose their first game of the season at home, but that’s betting folks. We will take the 1-1 on the day though, so on to the next.
🏒 NHL: Penguins vs. Lightning O 6.5
I went back forth for a bit on whether to take the over or Tampa ML, but ultimately, I settled on the points. The Lightning has been an absolute wagon at home, so I like them to score 4+ goals, and Pittsburgh is good enough to score at least 3. You get to decide which pick you want, but ol' covers is strongly suggesting the over.
🏀 NBA: Mavericks -134 ML vs. 76ers
This pick is only valid is Joel Embiid does not play. Philly is coming off of a back to back, and the Mavs have not played their best ball since Kyrie joined the squad. Throw Doc Rivers in the mix (always a fan of betting against doc) and I say the Mavs get back on track here.
🚨 We have our first alternate pick of Snagged Sports for IF Joel Embiid plays 🚨
🏒 NHL: Wild vs. Canucks U 6
I will ride the Minnesota unders train 'til they lead me astray. A simple system play here. Play the numbers and hopefully they don't play me.
As per usual, do what you must with this valuable information.

This court hurts my eyes, but luckily for KD, he saw right past it and settled into his new team just fine. The Suns are officially a title contender, not that we didn't already know this, but now with a taste of some action together, the championship hype will be real from here on out.
⏳ Throwback Thursday ⏳
March 2, 1963: The NBA single-game scoring record is set by Wilt Chamberlain with his infamous 100 point game. Chamberlain went 36 of 63 from the field and 28-32 on his free throw attempts. The record remains to be broken, and with no three-point line at the time, it makes this record even more impressive.
