Main Character: Tennessee Titans 🗡

When it comes to teams who have had success in the football, the Tennessee Titans might not be a name that comes to mind. It looks like their own front office has also come to that same conclusion. With the release of some of the team's best players, it seems the Titans are gearing up to build from the ground up.

Taylor Lewan

Nine-year veteran tackle Taylor Lewan, who has spent his whole career in Tennessee, was released by the team yesterday. Lewan shared the news like only he can, from his hit podcast 'Bussin' with the Boys':

It's said that Lewan is mulling retirement to continue to build a career in sports media, but there's always a need for a solid lineman in the NFL, so don't be surprised if he signs with a team desperate to beef up their o-line.

Robert Woods

After coming off an ACL injury with the LA Rams in 2021, the Titans signed Woods to help fill the void of the former WR1, AJ Brown.

Bobby Trees however did not live up to the WR1 nature catching only 52 balls for 527 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Titans struggled on offense all of last season, so this might not have been much of a surprise, but Woods made his feelings clear with a one-word tweet:

Apparently it was a good day for the former Titan. Woods by no means is done with his playing career and is now an available free agent.

The Future

A big reason why Tennessee made these moves was to free up cap space to allow them to have flexibility with the future of their roster. It's been rumored that the franchise's best player, Derrick Henry, could be on the move, and if that's the case, this team would enter full rebuild mode.

Don't write them off just yet though, because if NFL fans know one thing, it's that Titans HC Mike Vrabel has a knack for getting his teams to the postseason (except for this past year). Let's see if he, along with the front office, can work their magic in the coming weeks before the NFL Draft.

NY Post Sports

It was announced yesterday that a new show from Netflix will be launched later this summer following three NFL quarterbacks lives on and off the field.

The show, aptly named 'Quarterback', will follow Patrick Mahomes, Vikings QB Kirk Cousins, and Falcons QB Marcus Mariota. Three very different quarterbacks with I'm sure three very different stories, the main one being only one of them won a Super Bowl (spoiler, it's the first guy in the list).

Sports docu-series are the new hot thing in reality TV, and I for one am all for it. The more we get to see about a player's life and how they are outside of what we see during a three hour game, the more connected and invested we get to feel with the player. The series is set to launch this summer, so plan accordingly.

Remember the feeling you would get when you found out you were going to have a snow day? Well this student announcer went absolutely wild after the school found out they would have the day off. Watch out Gus Johnson, this kid is coming for your job.

Who says you can't storm the court on a non-basketball play? What a way to go in to the snow day.

💰 The Cover Corner 💰

About last night: I was 2-0 in when games ended in regulation. I know that is not how my bookie will count it, but in my head and in my heart, I went 2-0.

The Stars were 0-10 in their last 10 on the over. I put my reputation on the line and took the over, and look what happened. I’m a genius, just saying.

Some are saying Brandon Miller shouldn’t have played, and I happen to be among some of those people. Again, I count this as 2-0 in my book and, I hope the state of Alabama also goes 2-0 in their cases against Alabama basketball players.

With that said, let's get into tonight's picks, shall we?

🏀 NBA: Thunder vs. Jazz first half O 122

Man did I miss betting on the NBA. These two teams have gone a combined 65-52 on first half overs. Much needed rest after the All-Star break should provide both of these teams enough energy to put absolute numbies on the board. Both teams should be above 60 points at the break comfortably.

🏒 NHL: NY Rangers ML -165 vs. Detroit

One of the hottest teams in the league is coming off of two tough loses, but given they are well rested, this pick seems too easy. The Rangers won 8-2 the last time these two met, so it should really be closer to -230 or -250 in my humble opinion. I have been working on getting better at accepting gifts and compliments when they are given, and this seems to be a great opportunity to exercise my acceptance.

As per usual, do what you must with this valuable information.

🐣 Tweet of the Day 🐣

Throwback Thursday

February 23, 1985: NHL legend, Patrick Roy, makes his first ever appearance for the Montreal Canadiens. The all-time great went on to win four Stanley Cup titles, three playoff MVP awards, and eventually had his jersey retired with two different teams.
