Main Character: NFL Scandal

It's not often we get a cheating scandal exposed within pro sports, so any accusations are taken with serious consideration, especially when its the NFL we're talking about.

The Alleged Wrongdoer

Buckle up because there's a lot of names, lots of accusations, and of course, lots of drama.

Former Arizona Cardinals' Vice President Michael Bidwell is under fire for a wide range of alleged misconduct including cheating, discrimination, and harassment. Bidwell, who was the VP of the Cardinals for 13 years, supposedly forced former head coach Steve Wilks and the accuser, Terry McDonough, into communicating through burner phones with former general manager Steve Keim while Keim was serving a five-week suspension after pleading guilty to "extreme" DUI.

After McDonough refused to go through with this illegal action, he claims he was "cursed at, berated, formally reprimanded and ultimately demoted," leaving his career and reputation he built spiraling.

The Response

The Cardinals, of course, have come out and strongly denied any wrongdoing or cheating within the organization calling the claims "outlandish". Below is a summarized response from the Cardinals' organization:

"Our position was consistent with many efforts we've made to accommodate Terry during his time with the team, despite difficulties in his personal life and his often volatile demeanor toward colleagues," the statement from McCarthy said. "That's why we are saddened to see that Terry is now lashing out at our organization with disparagements and threats that are absurdly at odds with the facts. This unnecessary and vindictive action by Terry was intended to malign his co-workers, our owner Michael Bidwill, and our team with outlandish accusations."

What Happens Next?

The decision on what to do with the Cardinals will ultimately fall to Roger Goodell. Should he find any wrongdoing within the organization, there is sure to be some sort of monetary and organizational punishment.

As for what seems more believable, we'll leave that up to the folks in the legal department wherever this case lands. For more detailed info on the case and allegations, read here.

The new MLB rules to speed up the pace of play and showcase the athleticism of the best of the best baseball has to offer hit a bit of a speed bump in yesterday's Padres vs. Diamondbacks game.

With a 3-2 count in the bottom of the first inning, Machado stepped out of the batters box to gather himself but did not establish a stance in the batter's box within the allotted amount of time leading to an automatic strike and subsequent strikeout. In the video, it appears Machado attempts to call time, but the umpire would have none of it which is what he was likely arguing with and probably lead to him being tossed from the game.

Snagged Sports is a pro MLB rule change newsletter, but this instance is one where many people supporting the rules changes will have a tough time defending. A non-baseball play heavily effecting the lineup and potential outcome of the game based on bad hearing and 1 extra second of getting ready should not happen.

Hopefully this is a one-and-done thing for the MLB and we can all move on, but something tells me this is a battle the MLB have continue to fight for the rest of the season.

It was a family affair during this seasons' March Madness run as cousins Angel Reese and Jordan Hawkins both raised their respective championship trophies. This is one family that is sure to be celebrating in the coming weeks!

About last night...

Hockey is my sport and you can't convince me otherwise. I'm not sure if it was the wave of joy from my UConn future that lead to these picks or what, but I am on top of the betting world right now and I don't ever want to come down, so I won't.

⛳️ Masters: Will Zalatoris to win +3300/top 5 +600/top 10 +250

I can’t believe that Brooks Koepka has better odds than Willy Z. Zalatoris has a flair for the dramatics and the bright lights. He may miss the cut at the Farmers, but he will show up for the majors and has shown time and time again how good he is when it matters most.

Zalatoris has played in two Masters tournaments and has placed 2nd and T6th. He easily has the ugliest putting stroke on the PGA Tour, but it works for him. I am putting all the odds on here to be informative, but I will be taking the safe road and going with Zalatoris to finish top 10 at +250.

⛳️ Masters: Sam Burns first round leader +3000

In all of my research this name has always popped off the screen to me most, and I don’t know why. As a (semi) professional bettor I am by nature superstitious, and last year Scottie won the WGC and then went on to win the Masters. I am aware that Sam Burns is by no means Scottie Scheffler, but… what if he is (he’s not, he missed the cut last year)?

For an actual stat, Burns is top 10 in strokes gained on putting so far this year, higher than both John Rahm and Max Homa. I don’t hate Burns to win it all at +3300, but I can see him getting off to a hot start and leading after Day 1.

🏒 NHL: Jets -130 vs. Flames U 6

Me? Pick an away dog? On a back to back? I won’t play that song today, although it should be noted that I just saw the Flames lose to the Blackhawks who are actively trying to lose. The Jets this year have been trash on the road and solid at home. I like the under here because of the playoff-like atmosphere this highly important game will have and how the under has performed in Winnipeg this season.

This game is for hockey sickos like me, and should end in a 3-1 Jets win. Get ready sickos.

As per usual, do you what you must with this valuable information.
