Round One Recap
All the NFL draft recap, Lamar got paid, and Shohei nearly makes history
Welcome back to another edition of Snagged Sports, where we ✨snag✨ all of the best stories in sports and serve them up on a screen near you. In today's edition, all the NFL draft recap, Lamar got paid, and Shohei nearly makes history. Let's get into it.
Main Character: NFL Draft
Six trades, a quarterback slip n' slide, some classic commish dap-ups, and we're only through round one of the NFL Draft. It's time to recap what all went down during the draft, but first, we have to address the elephant in the room...Will Levis
Complete with ESPN analytics updates about how there was less than a 1% chance Will Levis would still be available by pick 22. 🏈📺#NFLDraft

Three quarterbacks were taken in the top four picks, and Levis was not one of them. ESPN made it abundantly clear all night that he was waiting in the green room for something to happen. But as all the rest of the players were picked, the Kentucky QB remained alone, and did so until the end. Hopefully he'll be picked up soon; my guess is by either the Titans or Seahawks.
Speaking of QB's, Bryce Young became a Panther, CJ Stroud was one of the shocks of the night going second to Houston, and Anthony Richardson, the freak athlete, was picked up by the Colts fourth overall. Houston made the move of the draft, trading up from the 12th pick and moving to get back-to-back picks at 2 and 3 to get potentially the two best players in the draft in Stroud and Will Anderson Jr. Rounding out the top 10 was the first running back taken in the top-24 in a couple years in Bijan Robinson - drafted by the Falcons, and the Eagles took a flyer on who many thought was THE best player in the draft in Jalen Carter.
There were surprise picks all night, and the draft was one of the more dramatic drafts we've seen in recent years. Check out the full list of first rounders here.
You Might Not Have Seen THIS 👀
Maybe you saw this, maybe you didn't, but possibly the biggest move of the night came from Lamar Jackson finally coming to a deal with the Baltimore Ravens. Jackson signed a 5-year, $260 million deal that made him the highest paid player in all of the NFL. That's a lot of M's.
Later in the draft, the Ravens made sure to keep Lamar happy by drafting wide receiver, Zay Flowers, a speedster who scouts compared to Tyreek Hill. It seems like he was quite happy with the pick.
I’m smelling More good news🤭😅 dropping soon👀👀👀👀👀

With the Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson dust settled at last, it's going to be all surprises from here on out if any major movement happens in the QB market.
🤍 Not So Wholesome Content 🤍

In today's edition of not so wholesome content, we have a pair of Euro League basketball teams going at each other like it's the main card of a UFC fight. Not sure what kind of ejections or fouls or whatnot there ended up being, but fights like this are rare in basketball, no matter where you play.

Thursday's Results
✅ Vegas vs. Winnipeg U 5.5 goals
❌ Leafs -155 vs. Lightning & O 6.5 goals
❌ NY Rangers O 2.5 goals vs. NJ Devils
❌ VGK Jack Eichel O 3.5 SOG
About last night...
The Leafs played sloppy hockey. They had 19 giveaways on the night compared to only 7 from Tampa Bay. Hard to win games and score goals when you are turning the puck over that much. Man, what the hell happened to the Rangers? They went from looking like a sure-fire ECF team in games 1 & 2 to looking like the the Rochester Americans in games 3-5. No offensive pressure, less than 25 SOG’s, Igor screaming at the bench for any sort of help... things are looking grim for the Rangers.
🏒 NHL: Islanders -120 vs. Hurricanes / U 1.5 in the first period
I am going to do a 360 windmill super play on this one. Momentum, goaltending, actual offensive production, and playing at home - look out for the Isles. This should be a tight game, so I also like the under 5.5 in this one. I love the under in the first period as there has not been more than one goal in the first period in any game so far in this series.
🏒 NHL: Stars ML -108 vs. Minnesota
Two words: Jake Oettinger. On the back of the Otter shall the Stars ride into to the next round. Oettinger has been the most consistent part of the team this series. You will be able to tell early on if the Stars will win this, and I believe the boys can tie a bow on this series up north. Easy way out of this one if you don’t believe in the Stars is to just take the over on Oettinger's saves. When the Stars win, they have a solid defense that doesn’t allow many shots, but when they lose, they have a defense that is holier than thou.
⚾️ MLB: Braves -140 ML/F5 vs. Mets
Max Fried on the mound sporting a 0.60 ERA versus David Peterson's 7.36 ERA. This is a belief in Fried. Take the Braves ML, HAMMER the Braves F5 on the best team in the league.
Weekend picks:
⚽️ La Liga: Real Sociedad +130 vs. Osasuna / O 2 goals
This is easily the most random pick I have given out. No doubt about that. Before you ask, no I have never watched either of these teams play nor have I even watched a game from the La Liga. However, betting is all about trusting your gut. I gave EPL a gut shot yesterday and went 3-0. I'll stay hot.
⚽️ EPL: Aston Villa @ Man U Draw +290 / U 2.5 goals
Sources: Trust me bro. Also, see above blurb.
As per usual, do you what you must with this valuable information.

The Celtics advanced past the Hawks after taking Game 6 in Atlanta to move to a much anticipated battle against the Sixers. A prime Tatum versus a prime Embiid is something NBA fans deserved, and now we got it.
