Q Gets Paid, The Foundation Has Been Laid, and much more!
Good morning everyone! Here's what news we ✨snagged✨ for you around the sports world today:
🛫 Q Gets Paid
💰 The Foundation Has Been Laid
🚀 ...and much more! Let's get into it.
👑 Main Character
Jets fans are having more and more to smile about with each passing day.
The front office locked up star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to a four-year, $96 million dollar deal that comes with $66 mil guaranteed. The new contract makes him the highest paid DT not named Aaron Donald.
Mr. achoo!, bless you, thank you certainly deserved the pay raise. Just look at this stat; he makes everyone around him instantly better.
Quinnen Williams is worth EVERY PENNY🤯

This news comes off the heels of the NFL announcing the popular preseason show, Hard Knocks, will feature the Jets. I’m sure this helped Williams with his negotiation as to not have the front office worry about the drama of signing a big name player with everyone able to watch their every move.
The Jets, with this signing, are shaping up to be a contender at minimum in their division, and who knows, with this stellar defense and the addition of Aaron Rodgers, this team from the Big Apple may be able to put something special together.

What an awesome moment for this couple at the U.S. Adaptive Open. After a long day of caddying, Josh White capped off the already incredible day by proposing to his playing partner (for life) on the 18th green.
🐣 Tweet of the Day
Heat have made a trade offer to the Blazers centered around Tyler Herro and 3 first-round picks for Damian Lillard, per @AaronJFentress

There is is, a real-life proposed trade for Trail Blazer superstar turned NBA drama boy, Damian Lillard. This is a deal I’m taking considering both sides might be reaching a breaking point.
Plus the trade isn’t too bad at all; Portland gets assets for the future and a budding star in Herro (despite the injury), and Miami gets into their ‘win now’ window with the addition of Dame.
Do it, and be done!
💰 Mr. Cover’s Football Corner
Now that you know where Snagged Sports stands in regards to divisional standings and which teams we’re backing, it’s time to break it down even further.
It’s simple: over or under.
The next couple of days, Mr. Covers has picked a few of his favorite teams and accurately predicted each of their win totals on the year. Let’s dive into the next team of the week with a squad that is coming off the heels of major success but will likely (certainly) have to adjust expectations for the future.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Over/Under 6.5 wins
Ugly, disgusting, nasty, stinky, gross. These are words that come to mind when I think about Todd Bowles and Baker Mayfield together.
It would not surprise me if the Bucs ended up with the first overall pick next year. Although they are in what is likely the worst division in football, that is quickly counteracted by having to play at Buffalo, San Francisco and all four NFC North teams. Yikes.
💵 Pick: Under 6.5 wins
🥊 Quick Hits
The Dallas Cowboys are the official champions of the Super Bowl Marble Race courtesy of Bleacher Report.

The MLB returns to a full slate today after taking their All-Star break.
Richard Sherman appears to be the front runner to join Skip Bayless on Undisputed.
