Shohei Ohtani is, and has been, showing the baseball world why he is in the conversation as one of the best baseball players to ever play the game at this level. Take last night for instance, the Angels won 4-2 during a measly summer night game, but Ohtani started on the mound and threw 10 strikeouts, and hit two home runs. Without him, they lose that game 100% of the time.

Keep in mind, the best player in baseball the past decade or so, Mike Trout, is still on the team, yet Mr. Ohtani leads the Angels in:

• Batting average (.304)

• Home runs (28, also leads the MLB)

• RBIs (64, also leads MLB)

• On base percentage (.386)

• Hits (93)

• Wins on the mound (7)

• ERA (3.02)

• Strikeouts (127)

For those not super familiar with baseball, leading in that many categories on a single team simply does not happen, ever. Ohtani is by far the best player in baseball right now, and we hope you put in an MVP future on him because you would stand to win some money after this season is over.

As for the Angels themselves, Ohtani just being one man, they can’t seem to get in the playoff race. Their division is one of the tougher in the major leagues, but with this kind of production, a team simply cannot afford to waste this type of production. With that being said, Ohtani is up for free agency following this season, and we very well could see contract figures north of $500 million dollars, and speaking honestly, we think he deserves it.

The wreckage itself is not wholesome, but getting a new appreciation and grip on life will remind you what truly is important. NFL running back Leonard Fournette is certainly feeling blessed, and take this as a reminder to live life to the fullest and appreciate what you have!

Let the record show that I am undefeated on giving out picks for Snagged Sports. My Marlins whopped up on the Red Sox last night, showing the baseball world what’s up on 19 hits and 10 runs.

Batting 1.000 feels good, and I have no intention of losing that perfect number any time soon.

⚾️ MLB: Minnesota Twins vs. Atlanta Braves -160

The Braves are one of the hottest teams in baseball, and can make plays that other teams could only dream of. The reality is, this team is the best in the National League, and despite the future efforts of Kenta Maeda tonight, his 1-4 record with a 6.86 ERA is not going to get it done against the likes of Acuña Jr. and Matt Olson.
