He's HIM

Playoff performances, the Jets finally made their move, and one incredible play

Welcome back to another edition of Snagged Sports, where we ✨snag✨ all of the best stories in sports and serve them up on a screen near you. In today's edition, playoff performances, the Jets finally made their move, and one incredible play. Let's get into it.

Main Character: HIM

A couple of instant-classic playoff performances took place last night, and if you missed it, no worries! You can relive the action here, although it was pretty great in the moment.

HIMMY Butler

Coming into the series, the Bucks were the odds on favorite to win the title and the Heat had to win their second of two games in the play in tournament just to make the playoffs. Well, things have totally flipped, and now Miami is just one win away from knocking off the 58-win Bucks.

A large (very large) part of that is because of Jimmy Butler who dropped a playoff-high 56 points on 28 attempts. Butler carried the Heat to the win with a 21 point fourth quarter including this dagger to take yet another game in the series.

Yes Giannis isn't 100%, but that does not discredit anything the Heat have done thus far in the playoffs. Playoff Jimmy is out in full force, and right now, nobody wants to see this man anywhere near their home court.

LeHIM James

To quote Dillon Brooks, "don't respect anybody until they put up 40." Well, Dillon, Lebron just put up the first 20/20 game by a Laker since Shaq did in 2004, and guess what...20+20 = FORTY!

It was a legendary performance by James, after sending the game into OT on a floater over the top of two defenders, Lebron scored the game sealing and-1 bucket to secure a 3-1 series lead.

You're telling me this man is almost 40 years old? The Lake-show will look to close out the series in front of the Memphis crowd on Wednesday.

You Might Not Have Seen THIS πŸ‘€

FINALLY. Aaron Rodgers was dealt to the Jets in a deal yesterday that officially shook up the NFL world. His new teammates were more than happy to welcome their newest member, and went to Twitter to express the excitement.

Terms of the deal:

  • Jets receive: A-Rod, pick 15 in 2023, pick 170 in 2023

  • Packers receive: picks 13, 42, and 207 in 2023, conditional 2024 second round pick that becomes a first if Rodgers plays in 65% or more snaps this upcoming season

How a deal like this took this long is beyond me, but it's done, and the takes can officially start to fly about the futures of both the Jets and Packers.

When you boil it all down, sports is about teamwork and lifting each other up, even in the heat of competition. These boys get it.

Monday's Results

βœ… Toronto vs. Tampa Bay O 6 goals + Tampa -105

❌ New York Rangers -150 vs. Devils

βœ… Texas Rangers vs. Reds O 8.5 runs

About last night...

What got into the NY Rangers at home? They looked like it was going to be a quick 4 game sweep then they went across the Hudson and absolutely collapsed. There is such little offensive production, and zero help for Igor. Meanwhile, the Texas Rangers overs are now officially free money until the totals are 9.5, so take advantage. Lastly, what a comeback from the Leafs. My goodness, after two periods they looked like the same old Leafs, after the third period and overtime, ScotiaBank Arena was, and will be, ROCKING.

πŸ’ NHL: Carolina -158 vs. Islanders

Postseason hockey needs two things: incredible goaltending and special teams. Ilya Sorokin has been playing fantastic, but isn't getting any favors from the special teams. There is just isn't enough offense being generated. Per my last column: death, taxes, and Carolina at home in the playoffs. Canes close out in 5.

πŸ’ NHL: Stars - 145 vs. Wild

The officials in this series have been downright atrocious, and that goes both ways. The Stars benefited heavily on Sunday night from a questionable interference call. I'm not mad, but I just want to show that I'm a fair guy. This is a belief in the momentum that the Stars are going to have coming back from a tough road win. The AAC is going to be buzzing, and Dallas is a much better team at home than on the road. I think they win their second straight of the series, and take the commanding 3-2 lead.

πŸ’ NHL: Oilers -1.5 vs. Kings & O 6.5 goals

What a series this has been. 3 of the 4 games have gone in to overtime, and the Oilers mounted an incredible comeback on Sunday night after being down 3-0 after the first period. This is a system play similar to the Stars and Canes: the better team wins Game 4 on the road and goes home with momentum. I think the Oilers put the absolute hurt on the Kings here. Parlay the Stars and Canes ML with the Oilers at -1.5 for some great value at +490.

As per usual, do you what you must with this valuable information.

🐣 Tweet of the Weekend πŸ£

We already mentioned A-Rod's move to NY, but rarely do you see breaking news announced in real-time on live TV. What a cool moment for ESPN and the live crew.

What a snag by Wander Franco. The Rays keep on rolling, and may win 140 games, especially with plays like this.
