It’s over ladies and gentlemen. The debate for the best in tennis has concluded after Novak Djokovic won his 23rd Grand Slam title after defeating Casper Ruud in straight sets.

After all the controversy and politics surrounding Djokovic the past couple of years, he’s probably feeling pretty good coming out on top in this one. His 23 titles come from:

• 3 Roland-Garros (French Open, but a way cooler name)

• 10 Australian Open

• 7 Wimbledon

• 3 US Open

With the win, the Serbian reclaims the No. 1 ranking in tennis, and shuts down any notion that he was on the decline. It’s good to see that at least in one sport, there is a decided GOAT, and while Federer and Nadal are great in their own right, that #23 is hard to get around.

Amanda Nunes picked up a win at UFC289 this past weekend in what she announced was her last fight ever. To make the moment all the more special, she danced with her daughter to celebrate not only the win, but one heck of a career in the octagon.

After a tumultuous news cycle that happened last week in the golf world, the RBC Canadian Open delivered one of the best tournaments of the season.

In the 4th playoff hole, Nick Taylor had a 72 foot putt to make eagle and defeat Tommy Fleetwood to become the first Canadian golfer to win the event in almost 70 years. He sunk it, and the crowd went absolutely nuts.

On a much funnier note, fellow Canadian Adam Hadwin tried to rush the green with a bottle of champagne to celebrate with his friend, but was met with a form tackle from a security guard.

What was a tense golf news week turned into a good golf tournament week, and what better way to cap it off with a storybook ending like this.

About this weekend...

It was a brutal game in Baltimore, and it caused the Orioles a cover opportunity. I really thought they were going to blow out the Royals. As for the Finals game, yet another 1H playoff under cashes.

⚾️ MLB: Rays -1.5 vs. A’s

This is it. This is the bet that determines whether I give up betting against the A’s until July or not. The A’s have won 5 straight (wtf?), so I expect water to find its level here. Zac Eflin is on the mound for the Rays, and he is 8-1 on the year and has done nothing but deal it out this season. This is it. It all comes down to this.

⚾️ MLB: Royals vs. Reds U 9 runs

This game is for the baseball sickos. I’m not quite the seamhead sicko yet, but I will bet this, and collect my winnings accordingly. I just do not have faith in either of these teams to score and neither do the sharp bettors either. This game should cruise to the under.
