+ a self-imposed ban and the Ravens' win streak was snapped
Good morning everyone! Here's what news we ✨snagged✨ for you around the world of football today:
🏈 JT Freed
❌ Self-Imposed Ban
🚀 ...and much more! Let's get into it.
👑 Main Character
Well guys, he did it.
Jonathan Taylor weaseled his way out of town and was given permission to seek a trade out of Indy. In the end, it will probably be a good thing for both sides. No one wants a player to play that holds a vendetta against their own team, and the front office doesn’t want to have to deal with off-the-field drama regarding a top player.
Win-win.
Now, the hard part begins.
As you hopefully have learned by now, the state of the running back position is one that is less than ideal. With that being said, JT will be looking for top money, and the Colts will also want a good deal. After all, he is a former First-Team All Pro, was the rushing leader in 2021, and is just 24 years old.
Reportedly, the Colts are seeking a first-round pick, or a package of picks, for the star player, so finding a team will likely cost a steep price. Rumors of where he might end up include:
Chicago (fine)
Philly (please no)
Miami (most likely as of now)
Regardless where he ends up, the team will become instantly better, and with each of those three options on the table (rumored), it’s hard to argue that making a deal for JT would be a bad idea.
🗞️ In Other News…
A quick timeline of Michigan’s head coach Jim Harbaugh:
Received four-game coaching ban from NCAA for alleged recruiting violations during the COVID season.
The NCAA found the statements ‘false’ and revoked the ban.
The University of Michigan imposed a self-ban of three games for Coach Harbaugh in “cooperation with the NCAA”.
Michigan still fully supports Harbaugh and will be able to return to coaching after Week 3.
Interesting stuff happening in Ann Arbor. Luckily for the Wolverines, a projected CFP candidate, their first three opponents consist of East Carolina, UNLV, and Bowling Green.

Why are the Commanders celebrating a meaningless preseason win? Well, the Ravens heading into this game were on a 24-game win streak during preseason play, that’s why.
The unprecedented streak came to a close thanks to the leg of Joey Slye’s 49-yard field goal as time expired.
An added bonus: the Commanders might have found a guy in QB Sam Howell. He went 19/25 with 188 yards and two touchdowns - including this play to help set up the eventual game-winner.
