Welcome back to another edition of Snagged Sports, where we ✨snag✨ all of the best stories in sports and serve them up on a screen near you. In today's edition, NFL free agency is all the buzz, a new sport has a PED scandal, and the WBC produces MLB talent. Let's get into it.

Main Character: NFL Free Agency

NFL Free Agency was all the buzz as teams were able to officially sign players from the open market. While there's still no news on Aaron Rodgers, there was still plenty of moves that shook up the NFL world.

Da Bears

Bears' GM Ryan Poles continued his shopping spree yesterday with the signings of stud linebackers Tremaine Edmunds and TJ Edwards. Adding to that list, Poles grabbed offensive lineman Nate Davis to try and further protect their quarterback of the future, Justin Fields. Each of these signings greatly improve the Bears in every aspect, and with a lot of cap space still available, these Bears might mess around and find out they can be a good team heading into next year.

It wasn't the quarterback news we were expecting, but it's the quarterback news we got. The former Niners' quarterback is headed to Las Vegas to fill in for the recently traded Derek Carr. The deal, worth 3-years $67.5M, will give the team some stability as they try to keep pace with the loaded AFC West.

Some positives: head coach McDaniels gets his QB from New England and the offense is still one of the most talented on paper with Adams, Jacobs, and Waller. Could this be the year the Raiders break through?

Super Bowl Hangover

The Philadelphia Eagles have been as much of a seller as sellers get. They have lost a considerable amount of talent from their Super Bowl roster including stud defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, and the aforementioned TJ Edwards.

Luckily for the birds, Jason Kelce, who was pondering retirement, decided to come back and give it another go for his 13th season in thee NFL. Safe to say GM Howie Roseman was excited to hear the good news.

The Road Ahead

There is still a lot to be desired from NFL Free Agency, but if this league has taught us anything, it's that breaking news can happen at anytime. Where will OBJ land? Will Aaron Rodgers finally make a decision? Will there be league-altering trades like last year? We're all counting on the NFL to deliver, and deliver they shall.

Performance enhancing drugs are something all professional sports leagues have had to deal with at some point or another, but who would've thought it would enter the world of pickleball?

Pickleball is sweeping the nation as the lovable, recreation game for all ages, but for some, it's turning into serious business. Because of that, players are remaining cautious as athletes usually look to find any advantage they can for wins and prize money.

There remains to be the one pickleball scandal that sends leagues into reform, but enough picklers are calling for changes to be made that we may see a crackdown on what is and isn't allowed.

The WBC has produced some incredible moments thus far, but none have been better than the story of the 21-year-old pitcher from Nicaragua, Duque Hebbert.

It took Hebbert one inning to gain his notoriety after striking out Dominican Republic and MLB stars Juan Soto, Julio Rodriguez, and Rafael Devers. After the game, a scout from the Detroit Tigers approached him and offered him a contract on the spot following his life-changing appearance on the mound.

Watch out for this guy to ball out in the majors, because who doesn't love a good come-up story?

I will never bet on a game the Mavs are playing in again (until the next time I love a spread). I just can't seem to ever get it right. The Stars, on the other hand, are on fire, and they simply cannot be stopped. We’ll see y’all at the Stanley Cup

The first pick of the tournament is an under. I know, it isn't flashy, but again, I reference the Minister of Magic in The Deathly Hallows part 1, “these are dark times, there’s no denying that..”

These picks have a couple of layers, not deep layers, but layers nonetheless.

1) Neutral court unders are a thing

2) Both of these teams suck at offense

3) Both of these teams are good at defense

4) I'm going against my wishes of wanting to take an over the first night

We all need a hot start going into the Round of 64, and these picks, I'm confident will lead us onto the straight and narrow.

🏀 NBA: NY Knicks -1.5 vs. Trail Blazers

MY Knicks have lost 3 of their last 4, but I think there's some positive regression here. This line is a little deflated, because if this game was happening this time last week, it would be somewhere around the Knicks -4. New York are still just a better team, and I will be taking first half line as well once it is available.
