Jimmy Butler a.k.a. Himmy a.k.a the Eastern Conference Finals MVP and the rest of the Miami Heat went into Boston, sucked the life out of the arena, and stole one of the greatest storylines in NBA history right out from under the Celtics.

The Boston Celtics, who won 13 more games in the regular season, and had a 32-9 home record, lost three games at home and were lucky to force a Game 7 after a miraculous tip-in from Derrick White in Miami during Game 6. The Miami Heat on the other hand become the first 8 seed to reach the NBA Finals since 1998. Here’s a quick list of a couple more things this team has accomplished en route to the Finals:

• Lost first play-in game

• Beat Bulls to squeak into the NBA Playoffs

• Upset No. 1 seed and championship favorite Bucks in 5

• Beat No. 5 seed Knicks in 6

• Beat No. 2 seed Celtics in 7

• First play-in team to make a Finals appearance

• Became second 8 seed to ever make the Finals

Truly unreal. They will go on to face the No. 1 seed in the West - Denver Nuggets - for a chance to complete the storybook ending. Series starts on Thursday. Get your popcorn ready.

In the heat of battle, as Emiliano Grillo awaited an eventual playoff dual, let a couple of kids join him on the first tee to hit a couple of balls as he attempted to stay warm. Grillo would go on to win the Charles Schwab Challenge and give this family a memory of a lifetime.

About this weekend...

I feel like I am finally beginning to get a hold of how to bet on baseball. The Cubs were one of those bets that I knew very quickly that I was out of it, so I gave up and moved onto the next bet. I will continue doing two things this season: betting on the Rays and betting against the A’s. This will carry me until football comes back.

⚾️ MLB: Orioles -150 vs. Guardians

Orioles are 20-7 this year as the favorites. They’re even better as a home favorite. Kyle Gibson on the bump for the O’s is a solid recipe for success too.

⚾️ MLB: Braves -1.5 vs. A’s

The A’s pulled a win out last night, so I am going to ride with the Braves as a road favorite here with some positive regression on the way.

⚾️ MLB: Twins vs. Astros NRFI + Twins ML

I love the Twins in this spot with the Astros coming off of playing the A’s. I think its a slow start to this game with Joe Ryan on the mound for the Twins, and the Twins should pull this one out in dominant fashion.
