Conference tourneys are done with, Selection Sunday has come and gone, and it's officially time for the best tournament in all the land: March Madness. The bracket has been set for the 68 teams competing for the NCAA title, and with play beginning tomorrow, there's only so much time to study up and get those perfect brackets in.
Big Winners

Alabama is this year's top overall seed, and with the year that they have been having on and off the court, that is no small accomplishment. Rounding out the tournament 1 seeds are Houston, Kansas, and Purdue - all of which have a strong case to make it to the title game.
Big Losers
Oklahoma State, Rutgers, North Carolina, and Clemson were the first four teams to just miss the tournament. UNC is not taking it lightly as they declined an invitation to the NIT Tournament to 'focus on moving ahead'. They are the first preseason number one to miss the NCAA tournament ever. It's a bitter pill to swallow for the Tar Heels who will have to reload their talent to make a run at a bid next season.
Teams of Destiny
Penn State came in and stole a bid as they earn a spot with a 10 seed in the Midwest region. Unfortunately, they will have to face one of the hottest teams in all of college basketball in the Texas A&M Aggies.
The Pitt Panthers snuck in the door as an 11 seed and will have to play their way into the round of 64 against 11 seed Mississippi State. Pittsburgh had a roller coaster of a year, so to be in the position they are now is a bit of a sigh of relief.
13 seed Furman and 15 seed UNC Asheville are both teams the experts are high on to make some noise in this year's tournament. Furman enters the tournament as the Southern Conference Champions and have one of the most explosive offenses in the country. UNC Asheville not only has one of the coolest logos in the country, but plays like a team that is capable of knocking off a big dog.

Okay let's be honest, you definitely saw this, but Scottie Scheffler deserves his spotlight after he ran away with the Players Championship iconic trophy after defeating the field by 5 shots.
What started as a tight race early on Sunday, rough rounds by members in the late groups allowed Scheffler to settle in to his round and focus on the task at hand. After birdies on holes 8-12, it was a foregone conclusion that the new number one golfer in the world was going to finish the day on top.

Jordan Spieth made the weekend cut by two strokes, but if not for hitting a fan to keep his ball in play, he might have walked away from the weekend empty handed.
Spieth said in his press conference after Friday's round that the fan that kept his ball in play "deserved whatever he wanted for the rest of the weekend". Both parties got what they wanted: a dream come true for a golf fan, and a $275,000 payday for Spieth.

β Michigan State -4.5 vs. Ohio State
About last week...
All I can say is that hot streaks are within reach, especially with the Big Dance on the horizon. It's time to lock it in, and lock in is what I will do. No more messing around.
π NHL: Stars vs. Kraken O 6
the boys are back, and the boys are buzzing. The Stars offense has been absolutely electric since their trade deadline moves, and have each of their games have gone over in each of their last 5 contests including a 4-3 win over Seattle on Saturday night. This team is looking more like the Stars from November rather than that of January and February. I am going to bury this pick at the end of my write up and say I donβt hate the Seattle ML for plus money at home. Iβm not saying the Stars are going to lose, just that I like the value.
π NBA: Grizzlies 1H +1 and ML vs. Mavericks
The Mavs are the one Dallas team I have just never been able to get on board with, and losing almost every bet I have ever placed on them doesn't help. People are down on the Grizzlies because Ja Morant is out here doing his reverse Fresh Prince cosplay, but I still like the grizzlies here. They have plenty of talent on their roster, and are second ATS in the league behind MY Knicks. The Mavs are 26th ATS in the first half with their lackluster defenses. I love the value here on the only basketball team that can rival Alabama basketball in terms of CPP (crimes per player). One might call this a 'steal of a deal'.
As per usual, do you what you must with this valuable information.

π£ Tweet of the Weekend π£
One of the top cornerbacks in the league is on the move as Jalen Ramsey was traded from the LA Rams to the Miami Dolphins for a third round pick and TE Hunter Long. Miami gets to load up on defense, and LA gets some draft capital that they desperately need. Does this make Miami the top dog in the AFC East? Buffalo and New York might think differently, but the Dolphins now have serious talent that could take them far in next season's playoffs.
