Main Character: Jim Boeheim

USA Today
The legendary Syracuse Orange head coach is calling it quits after 47 years with the team, but no one really knew it was official until after his supposed retirement speech. Listen in and you decide if this sounds like a man headed out the door.
Fans didn't known yet, but this was Jim Boeheim's retirement speech.

Regardless, Boeheim has had an incredible career with the Orange finishing with 1,015 total wins, 5 Final Four appearances, 1 championship, and an induction into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. Not too shabby. Loyalty is rare nowadays when it comes to the sports world, but Boeheim was one of those guys who stuck it through no matter what happened.
Jim Boeheim has been at Syracuse for his entire adult life:
1962-1966: Student
1967-1969: Grad student
1969-1976: Assistant Coach
1976-2023: Head CoachHe's retiring as the longest-tenured coach in D-1 basketball and the only one with 40+ years exclusively at their alma mater.

Coach Boeheim won't be soon forgotten by the college basketball world, and it's safe to say that he has cemented his legacy not only at Syracuse University, but in the sport of basketball as a whole. Thanks for the memories Coach.

Jaguars wide receiver, Calvin Ridley, was officially reinstated by the NFL yesterday, which means he is now officially a member of DUUUUUUVAL. Ridley was suspended for the entire 2022-2023 NFL season due to betting on NFL games. He never bet on the games he was playing, but nonetheless, the NFL should not and can not allow betting of any capacity from the players themselves.
Ridley was welcomed in to Jacksonville with a warm welcome, and will now join Trevor Lawrence, Christian Kirk, Evan Engram, and Co. to form a 'super offense' of sorts. No one was happier than head coach Doug Pederson to see Ridley enter the building. Just look at his face!

The Jags will definitely be a team contending in the AFC next year, and Calvin Ridley only adds to the explosiveness that teams will need to worry about next season. Ridley speaks on his actions in an inspirational tell-all courtesy of the Players' Tribune, and if you have time, I highly recommend the read. Welcome back Ridley!

About last night...
It has come to the point that I’m at a loss for words. The Clippers decided to play defense for the first time in weeks, and the Canucks let me down, straight up. No matter how far in the red I get, I will come back, and you can count on it. Now, let us get down to business.
🏒 NHL: NY Islanders +120 vs. Pittsburgh
The Islanders have been on a tear recently. Despite losing their best player, Matthew Barzal, to injury, it seems like they haven't lost a step thanks to the acquisition of Bo Horvat. I like the Islanders to stay hot here.
🏒 NHL: Boston -172 vs. Edmonton
The Bruins are making their case to become the greatest hockey team of all time. They are a staggeringly impressive 26-2-3 at home this season, and the B’s won the previous matchup 3-2 at Edmonton. I think it's safe to say they will keep it rolling and extend their win streak to 11.

🤘 Texas: +2800
The age-old question people have been asking for decades is: Is Texas back? There is plenty to love about this team despite UT being one of the most hated schools in all of college sports.
Pros: This team can score. Scoring almost 80 ppg, Texas is in the top 30 in scoring and is 16th in Kenpom’s adjusted offensive efficiency. This is a talented team that has played, and won, in big games this year. The Big 12 is undoubtedly the best conference in college basketball this year, and Texas was just one game shy of taking the regular season title. Road games have been a gauntlet for every team this year, but the Horns have had it especially tough facing the likes of Gonzaga, Creighton, and Illinois. I also love the “team of destiny” vibes that come from the Longhorns. Despite having the off-court issues from former head coach and head POS Chris Beard, this Texas team has fought through adversity and come out the other end a top 10 team. If that doesn't prove how talented this team is, then I don't know what else will.
Cons: As it usually goes, pros can be cons, and Texas has a big con with their unexperienced head coach going into the most intense and difficult games of the year. This is not to say that Rodney Terry is a bad coach, but if you give me the option of Bill Self or Rodney Terry, I will be taking Self each and every time. As far as the Horns' actual play on the court, Texas’ defense doesn’t get me overly excited as they can be the Achilles heal to a lot of their closer games. Giving up 116 points in regulation to Kansas State is a decent example of this fault.
