Baseball is on the hot seat this weekend. Why? Because in this sport, it’s supposed to be a rarity to score 20+ runs in a game, but after seeing it twice in one weekend, some are saying that baseball is becoming easier and easier by the day.

First, it was the LA Angles blowout win against the Colorado Rockies. By the 4th inning, the game was completely out of hand after the Angels homered five times.

After all was said and done, six players finished with three or more hits, and five players came away with three or more RBIs. Not your average stat line for sure…

Cut to yesterday in the College World Series championship. LSU had all the momentum going into Game 2 after a thrilling walk-off home run, and I can say for a fact that no one saw this score coming.

For reference, unlike the above outcome, the opposing team (in this case LSU) held the lead through two innings. After that though, there was no stopping the offensive explosion from the Gators as they scored six in the 3rd, five in the 6th, and a combined nine runs in the final two innings just as a cherry on top.

Is this good for baseball? Absolutely. People love seeing high scores and home runs, so this is an overall positive (just as long as your team isn’t on the receiving end). As for the ease of the sport in general, we all know it’s one of the more difficult, but it’s a testament to the best athletes in their respective levels of the game at just how easy they can make it look.

Winning on the PGA Tour hasn’t been an issue for Keegan Bradley, but winning his hometown tournament with his entire family by his side to root him on stirred up emotions unlike any win of his before this one.
