+ it's a very Happy Tierday

Good morning everyone! Sorry for the late send everyone, so here’s a little afternoon edition for you all. And now…

Here's what news we ✨snagged✨ for you around the world of football today:

🏈 MNF Doubleheader
📊 Happy Tiersday
🚀 ...and much more!

Let's get into it.

👑 MNF Recap

Turns out the 2022 DPOY is, as they say, really like that.

In a game that felt like was happening in a fantasy land of football saw the Steelers literally steal a game from the Browns. Cleveland dominated the time of possession battle, held the advantage in first downs, yards, and total plays run, but in the end, only one stat mattered.

Turnovers.

The Steelers forced four turnovers in last night’s game, including TJ Watt’s fumble return for a touchdown that proved to be the game-winner. His stat line you ask? Four tackles, two TFLs, one sack, one touchdown, and a numerous amount of immeasurable impacts on the game.

Unfortunately for Browns fans, the night was much worse than they could have hoped for. Running back and focal point of the offense Nick Chubb suffered an injury so bad that the broadcast was not allowed to show the replay. Earlier this morning, reports confirmed that he would indeed be out for the season, so the offense now sits on the shoulder of Deshaun Watson moving forward.

The AFC North is going to be all-out war for the rest of the season, and more games like this should be expected.

This game could not have been more boring if it tried. The only exciting part of the game was for Panthers’ bettors who had them at +3 and sneaked the backdoor cover. Here is the quickest of recaps for this game.

  • Tony Jones Jr. scored the Saints’ two touchdowns.

  • No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young threw a late, meaningless touchdown and subsequent two-point conversion to cover the spread.

  • Chris Olave hauled in six catches and looks like the real deal.

  • And finally…this was the best thing to come out of this game.

There you have it. The Saints move to 2-0, the Panthers fall to 0-2, and I just spared you from having to read anymore than this game deserves.

📊 Happy Tiersday!

Week 2 of NFL action solidified a lot of the things Mr Covers and I were already believing. There are a few teams out there that impressed us all this week, and others that are very clearly finding their home towards the bottom of these tiers.

👐 Monday Snag

Congrats to Chris Olave for winning the coveted Monday Snag! Something tells me we’ll be seeing more of Mr. Olave in the weeks to come.

Derek Carr is honing in on his favorite targets down in NOLA, and Olave is emerging as one of his favorites. You can see why. Despite the press coverage and arm bar, Olave comes down with a big gain and money signs in his eyes after this one.

🟨 Panthers +3 vs. Saints

✅ Panthers vs. Saints Under 39.5 total points

❌ Browns vs. Steelers Under 38 total points

About last night…

Both of these games were on crack, and not the good kind.

The Panthers and Saints game was what we should have expected from the start, and the under was literally never in doubt. What a push by the young Panthers team though, wow. When you have a spread like that where it ends up pushing at the end, you are happy. Had we been on the Saints side of things, the depression would have started to really kick in.

I really don’t know how the Steelers ended up scoring as many points as they did, but we are on to next week. 1-1-1 is not the worst way to end the week.

Tuesday’s Picks

🏈 NFL: Niners -10.5 vs Giants

First of all, Saquon is likely out so that is going to put a real damper on the Giants’ hopes. Second, the Giants are only 8 days removed from getting thrashed by the Cowboys. Many people believe that the Niners are better than the Cowboys, and the Niners, on top of that, have the benefit of being at home.

The Niners have won 12 straight regular season games, with eight of those wins being by 13+ points. They don’t just win, they destroy. The cherry on top is the injuries (and horrible play) of the Giants’ offense. This can, and will, get ugly. I did buy the half point to get it to -10 (-120), so we will keep that in mind, but the most likely line you will find is -10.

🏈 CFB: Colorado @ Oregon over 71.5

I think I would take this over at 100. I do not care whatsoever.

There should be so many points in this game. The least amount of points that either of these teams have put up in a game this year is 36. Travis Hunter is out for the next few weeks so that will help the Oregon offense score even more points. This one should sail over. Points, Points, Points!

🎒CFB season record: 6-9-0

⭐️ NFL season record: 12-4-1
