The Newest Home Run King, Football Is Coming, and much more!

Good morning-ish everyone! Here's what news we ✨snagged✨ for you around the sports world today:
👑 The Newest Home Run King
🏈 Football Is Coming
🚀 ...and much more! Let's get into it.
👑 Main Character

The Home Run Derby is one of the most fun events in all of sports, and last night’s competition delivered some truly fun moments.
Vlad Guerrero Jr. took home the title after slugging a combined 72 home runs across three rounds of action. The first to fall was Mookie Betts who showed little to no desire to compete in the derby after putting up just 11 home runs, the least in any round on the night.
In the semi-finals, Vladdy then took out the hometown rep, Seattle’s own Julio Rodriguez, who had just come off an electric record-setting 41 home run round in the first round of competition.
To top it all off, Guerrero Jr. knocked off Randy Arozarena in a close championship battle, beating him out by just two home runs to take home the crown. Three rounds of slugging, and it’s easy to see why these guys would be a bit tired.
With the win, the Guerrero family became the first father/son pair to win a Home Run Derby.

Wow, what an exciting display of emotion there from the fam.
⭐️ Other stars who shined: Adley Rutschmann.
He pulled off a never before seen move that will likely go down in the record books. After cooling off a big after hitting 21 home runs, Rutschmann switched sides of the plate, and in the last 30 seconds, went 7-of-8 to add to his total. The Oriole would go on to lose his battle against Mr. Arozarena, but made for one memorable outing for the young rook.

Notorious Kansas City Chiefs super-fan and man-on-the-run Chiefsaholic (I didn’t even know his real name until this report came out), was reportedly found and arrested yesterday afternoon after committing a series of bank robberies.
He might have to wait a while before he can catch another game at Arrowhead…
💰 Mr. Cover’s Football Corner
With football season fast approaching, it’s time to re-familiarize ourselves with what happened this offseason, and who the odds on favorites are to win the division, and the whole dang thing.
Today, we’re looking through a division that really does not have much to offer.
NFC South
Saints +120, Falcons +250, Panthers +330, Buccaneers +600
I really don’t want to have to even look into this division as it is truly one of the most disgusting things I have ever laid my eyes upon.
The Buccaneers are going to be a covering machine this year since they have such a solid defense, but I can’t in good faith back Baker Mayfield and Todd Bowles in any other way.
The Panthers will have great value at the beginning of the season against the spread, but I don’t think they will win enough to win the division. It was very clear last year how much of a bird brain Dennis Allen has, and I think the whole Derek Carr thing can get them a Wild Card spot at best.
I’m rolling with the Falcons to win this division due to their run game and added weapon of a back, Bijan Robinson. Given how head coach Arthur Smith fared with Derrick Henry during his time in Tennessee, I love the value on the Falcons.

💵 Pick: Atlanta Falcons +250
