Main Character: NBA

Lost in the shuffle of March Madness and the World Baseball Classic, the NBA is still alive and thriving with juicy storylines and pressure moments as the regular season winds down to a close. Last night saw the return of a certain Grizzlies star who hopes to bring his team back to the top. On the other hand, a certain NBA owner is *quite* unhappy with how their game played out.

The Return of Ja

Ja Morant, after serving his eight game suspension and attending therapy after his run in with the police for multiple incidents involving guns and violence, made his return to the floor last night against a lowly Rockets team.

The Grizzlies are easing him back in to the lineup as he only saw 24 minutes coming off the bench. But, that doesn't mean he still isn't one of the most electric players on any court in the world. He was still able to put up 17 points with 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. Not too shabby for someone who has gone through some rough times as of late.

No one really knows how to feel about Ja Morant at the moment. Is he a good guy that's making stupid decisions, or is he just the bad apple of the bunch and we should expect more controversy in the future? That's up to Ja, but like many things in sports, good play and win streaks often heals the wounds of your past, so let's hope the Grizzlies can make some noise down the stretch, for Morant's sake at least.

Mavs Protest A Loss

If you were to just look at the box score, you would think that this game was close all the way through, and the Warriors managed to edge out the Mavs, but for Mark Cuban and the rest of the front office, it's an L that should be turned into a W.

Mark Cuban announced after the game that the game would be put under protest with the NBA. Why? During the 3rd quarter, after a scramble for the ball, the referees pointed towards possession of the Warriors and then instantly gave the Mavericks a timeout. Coming out of the timeout, there was some confusion, and nobody on the Mavs expected the Warriors to have possession, thus leading to the easiest bucket by anyone ever in the NBA. Cuban released a quote postgame about his feelings towards that certain play.

Unfortunately for the refs, and the NBA, the game ended in a two point victory for the Warriors, and without that easy bucket, the game has the potential to have a very different outcome. One where Dallas believes they would have scored and ultimately won the game.

The last game that was reversed due to protest was in 2008 to the Miami Heat, so the Mavs' hopes of a reversal are historically not on their side. With the regular season coming to a close, every win matters, so for the Mavs, a reversal could mean the difference between a play-in game and automatic qualification into the playoffs.

You May Not Have Seen THIS 👀

Rickie Fowler is back folks.

This week, down in Austin, Texas, the beloved WGC Dell Match Play Tournament is taking place with group play starting yesterday. The rules are simple: win enough matches within your group, and you advance to the knockout stage of the tournament. Each group has 4 players, and only one can advance. As you can imagine, the world #2 golfer was highly favored to come out of the group, and still can, but Fowler has some other plans in mind.

Rahm was visibly off his game, losing a couple of holes to three-putts and not driving the ball super well, and the lovable underdog that we love to root for, Rickie Fowler, took full advantage of the situation. The match ended 2 in 1 and Rickie Fowler now has a chance to make it out of his group as a 49 seed.

No one is saying he will go and win the whole thing, but this will surely boost his confidence as he heads through the rest of group play. Can the man formerly known for his eccentric neon orange outfits get it done in the clutch? Only time will tell.
