The third major of the PGA Tour season is among us, and for the first time in 75 years, the U.S. Open is back in Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Country Club. The field is stacked as one of four events that golfers from all leagues and tours are able to participate in. Defending U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick might have a tough time defending his title as he is just the 11th highest favored golfer to win it all this weekend. The top five are as follows:

Scottie Scheffler (World No. 1 golfer) +600

Jon Rahm (World No. 2 golfer) +1000

Brooks Koepka (2023 PGA Championship Winner) +1100

Rory McIlroy (Sacrificial lamb) +1200

Patrick Cantlay (The most boring golfer on the PGA Tour) +1600

As for the prize money, this year’s major will pay out it’s largest pot ever with a total of $20 million at stake, including $3.6 million to the winner. And as all U.S. Open courses are known for, L.A.C.C has some thick rough, fast greens, and very few scorable holes. A.k.a. these players are going to have to earn that money.

Players seem to be head down and focused on winning with still many rumors swirling around the PGA/LIV merger, and now Jay Monahan out for the week on ‘medical leave’. At the end of the day, winning majors is all a lot of these players care about. As for Snagged Sports, we will be supporting Max Homa as the hometown hero as he looks to capture his first major title of his career.

Longtime Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal may be looking for a new place to bring his game. The Wizards, a perennial below-average franchise, is looking to reset and free up some space to move on from their All-Star.

As of right now, the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat are two of the teams being thrown around as most likely destinations for Beal, but as we know with NBA free agency, anything can happen. Brad deserves more than what Washington has given him, and seeing him on either one of those two teams would be a treat for basketball fans everywhere.

It is important to not force picks. Do not take what some bozo says on twitter that it’s a “Max unit play” and don’t pay any of those losers either. If you like a play, play it. Numbers can help, but ultimately, if you think something is a good play, then you should play it. I haven’t liked the board the last couple of nights, but I’m digging and finding things I like and not forcing it. There are 363 days a year where you can gamble on the 4 major American sports, there is no need to force it.

⚾️ MLB: Rangers vs. Angels U 8.5 runs

With two high strikeout pitchers in Shohei Ohtani and Nathan Eovaldi on the mound means this will end in a 4-2 Rangers win. The bail out play is under 4.5 F5, but I like both plays so you can’t really go wrong here.

⚾️ MLB: Orioles vs Blue Jays NRFI

These teams have combined for 71-65 on NRFI so far this season. This isn’t an outstanding record, but this pitching matchup favors less runs, and more specifically, less runs early on. It’s simple, all we need is six outs.
