A Bitter Sweet Weekend

Week 18 is here

About Last Night: 0-2

Sometimes you get the hook and sometimes the hook gets you. The hook got us on the Knicks 1Q. All we needed was one Knicks basket in the last minute and they went 0 for 3 with a shot clock violation, just a brutal and sad way to lose. Seton Hall and Providence were pretty much step-for-step in every statistical category except for threes and offensive rebounds. Seton Hall was 7-16, for 43%, while Providence was 4-17 for a measly 23%. They also allowed Seton Hall to grab 11 offensive rebounds. It is hard to win games when you aren’t making shots and getting doubled up on offensive rebounds. Onward we move.

Pick 1: Cowboys -13 @ Commanders

Week 18 is hard to project and pick because you don’t know team motivation and many players are sitting out. This game is reminiscent of last year’s week 18 matchup, the Cowboys have something to play for and the Commanders are a lame duck. In true Cowboys fan fashion, I am going to say that this year won’t be like last year. This is mainly due to the fact that the Commanders are actually worse this year. With Ron Rivera likely on the way out, there is probably little motivation in that locker room. The Cowboys have a revitalized incentive that we can win and secure the 2 seed, and although I was skeptical about Dak and the offense this year, they have been humming and Dak has been elite.

Pick 2: Titans +3.5 vs Jaguars

Another week 18 rematch, but this one has a sprinkle of revenge added to it. Outside of last week’s thrashing of the Panthers, the Jaguars have been really bad the last few weeks because of Trevor Lawrence’s plethora of injuries. I think the offense will struggle this week but will do enough to win, I just don’t see the Jaguars covering this on the road, it’s a classic Vrabel spot.

Pick 3: Dolphins vs Bills over 48.5

I have said it once and I will say it again, sometimes it is okay to place a bet because what you are choosing is fun. This over, is fun. Also, this matchup has gone well over this number in the last 3 matchups. Given all that is on the line, I think both offenses will show up in the best way.
