Business Is Booted, U.S. Open History, and much more!

Good morning everyone! Here's what news we ✨snagged✨ for you around the sports world today:

🥾 Business Is Booted

⛳️ U.S. Open History

🚀 ...and much more! Let's get into it.

👑 Main Character

Antonio Brown is back in the news, and as per the last couple years, it isn’t for good reason.

Brown, a majority stake owner of the Albany Empire in the National Arena League, failed to pay the required fees and fines after weeks of not paying anything. As a result, he NAL kicked him out of the league. If you have a spare two minutes, I highly recommend giving this bizzare-o interview a watch.

It’s sad to see a man fall from the likes of what he was not too many years ago, but to have other players, staff, and leagues involved in his antics outside of himself is just plain wrong. Whatever he does next, I’m sure we will hear about, but for now, it may be a good idea for him to lay low, and that’s a lot to ask from a guy like AB.

🥺 Wholesome Content

Rookie WR for the LA Chargers, Quentin Johnson, made good on his promise to his mom that she wouldn’t have to work for another day after he was drafted. Her last day of work was yesterday.

🐣 Tweet(s) of the Day

Day one of the U.S. Open is behind us and unlike many other U.S. Open courses, LACC is playing like a local muni for many of these guys. Both Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele posted record-breaking 62’s (tying the U.S. Open scoring record) just three groups apart to head into the clubhouse with the lead at -8. The only player ever to win a U.S. Open with double digit scores is Jordan Spieth when he did so in 2015. With each of those two guys just a decent day away from breaking Speith’s record after the first round is not going to make many USGA officials happy.

The U.S. Open takes pride in the difficulty it gives players at this event, so expect to see tough pin placements and firmer conditions as the week goes on to make competition just a bit rougher (pun intended).

About last night...

We will take 1-1 on a night where I didn’t love the board. I really wanted to see the Rangers pull that one out, but I knew they would go under. The Wyndham Clark experience is fantastic. He didn’t lead at -6 because Rickie and Xander shot a U.S. Open record, but I will definitely be betting Wyndham more in the tournaments to come this year and beyond.

⚾️ MLB: Rangers +120 vs. Blue Jays / O 9 runs

🚨Boots on the Ground Alert 🚨

Mr. Editor and I will be guzzling down glizzys and smashing beers in Globe Life Field tonight. I love love LOVE the over, and I love the rangers even more. The Rangers will win 7-4 and Jonah Heim goes YABO!
