Main Character: The Play-In, Pt. 2
More basketball? More basketball. Day 2 of the NBA Play-In did not disappoint as the most dramatic league in all of sports delivered another great night of action.
Bulls vs. Raptors
All hope seemed lost for the Chicago Bulls heading into halftime. The 10 seed was down 19 at one point in the game, and it looked like it was going to be another one-and-done exit for the 10 seed.
Enter Zach Lavine and Diar DeRozan. Lavine went nuclear in the second half scoring 30 in the half on 54% shooting from the field. It was like the flip of a switch, and the Raps had no answers. Demar DeRozan had a solid night with 23/3/7, but it was his daughter that deserved MVP of the night.
demar derozan’s daughter screamed every time the raptors were at the free throw line
the raptors missed 18 free throws
the bulls won by 4
everybody say hello to your 2023 play-in MVP

The Raptors went 50% from behind the stripe, and I'm sure a shrill scream does not help the cause in any way. The Toronto duo in Siakam and VanVleet put up a a combined 58 points, but with little bench help, there was a lot of strain on the starters to produce.
The Chicago Bulls become the first 10 seed to win a play-in game and will now have a chance to earn the 8 seed against the Miami Heat on Friday night.
Thunder vs. Pelicans
The hype behind the young core in OKC is real.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put up a solid 32 points, Josh Giddey nearly had a triple-double with 31/9/10 and Lu Dort contributed another 27 en route to a play-in win over the New Orleans Pelicans. It was the first time a team had 3 players score 25+ in a play-in game, and OKC needed every single point they could get.
Each of the Pels starters reached double digits with Brandon Ingram leading the way with 30, including a three at the end of the game to bring the margin to one. See for yourself: would you call this a foul with so much on the line?
Brandon Ingram was looking for a foul call on this shot late in the game.
A four-point play would've tied the game 👀

It was not meant to be as the Thunder would go on to make their free throws and win the game by 4. The second 10 seed to win a play-in game on the night will now have a chance to earn their way into the playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
You May Not Have Seen THIS 👀
Jake Paul is at it again, this time, challenging UFC welterweight Nate Diaz to a clash on August 5th in Dallas, Texas.
Over the past 18 months, Diaz and Paul have exchanged some trash talk with Paul even calling him out post fight after his win against Anderson Silva. Diaz, who is looking to prove himself yet again, had this to say about Paul.
"Besides Canelo, he's the biggest thing in boxing. I'm here to conquer that. I'm the King of combat sports and then I'm headed back to get my UFC belts. I f---ed up Conor for acting out and now here I am again, like a Super Hero of the Real Fight game, the King of the Real Fight game
The bout will take place in the American Airlines Arena in the heart of D-town and is sure to attract hundred of thousand of pay-per-viewers. Paul's last fight surpassed 800,000 purchases via PPV, and there's no telling what this number could go to with two of the biggest personalities in all of combat sports.

Maybe I'm just romantic about the Boys, but it warms my heart, as it should yours, to see Dak and Zeke together again out on the practice field.
The Cowboys cut Ezekiel Elliott earlier this offseason, but could this be a sign that he may be returning to the team on a different deal? For Dak's sake, and for friendship sake, I hope the answer is yes.

About last night...
I am not mad at myself, I'm just disappointed. I had the Raptors 1h -3.5 in the chamber and switched it up at the last second. Let this be a lesson: bet the original or bet both but don’t change it, it just opens you up for too much regret. In other news, the Stars are getting hot just in time for playoffs. My hopes are high, and I’m ok with it.
🏒 NHL: Avalanche -170 vs. Winnipeg
The Avs lost two early ones in the season when they were dealing with injuries then won 5-1 six weeks ago. This is a case of simply trusting the better team. Oh, and don’t trust Rick Bowness in April.
🏒 NHL: Vegas -120 vs. Seattle + U 6 goals
Vegas won two nights ago, and they will win again. They are up in the season series 2-1 and are still fighting for the top seed in their division so playing everyone is in their best interest. As for the under, both these teams are 42-39 on unders and Seattle is 22-18 on the under at home. This matchup has also gone under in 2 of the 3 matchups this year.
🏒 NHL: Rangers -130 vs. Toronto
I would like officially announce that the Rangers are my Eastern conference team. Any other game I would likely be taking the Leafs here, but Auston Matthews didn’t play against the Lightning and I could see the Leafs resting more players in this matchup as they already are locked in to play the Lightning in round one. The Rangers won the first two matchups at home this season and are 23-12 at home on the season. Give me the Rangers to get momentum going into the playoffs.
🏒 NHL: Carolina vs. Florida U 6.5 goals
Florida is the second hottest team in the league, but they need this win if they want to avoid Boston in the first round of the playoffs. The Hurricanes also need this win to secure their division. Another important, competitive game. This screams, smells, and feels like an under to me. For further analysis, these teams have gone under in 2 of 3 matchups this season.
🏒 NHL: Devils -178 vs. Capitals
Not going to put much thought into this one to be honest. Bet the better team that is still playing for something and collect your money. Please and thank you.
As per usual, do you what you must with this valuable information.

Ok so since I’m so “famous” @FanDuelTV & @SDi@SDinwiddie_25 me give you all some clout. I’m usually unbothered but things on the internet but I will not allow this delusional guy to continue to talk about my teammates and I.
Here’s a thread: 😭😭😭

Kyle Kuzma went torched earth after calling out former teammate Spencer Dinwiddie in a six-part Twitter thread. Didn't I say something at the top about the most dramatic league in sports? I think I nailed it with that one.
Here was Dinwiddie's initial take:
“You’re probably not even a third star really on a good team, because if you were the Lakers probably would have kept you.”
Spencer Dinwiddie didn’t hold back on Kyle Kuzma 😳

Spicy! It's a shame we won't see these two in postseason play any time soon...

Even though the Canadiens lost, this goal was one of the more impressive things from last night in sports.
